That happens when I try to setup my twin outboard with a light load.

I noticed that twins (my 38" intruder) really do draw much less... Should have eagle treed it, but was running BJ motors on their ESCs (45amp) and 6S with 440 props - upper 50s... never got above 90degF. I would bet that a 26" or even 33" mono would draw under 60amps per ESC if not fewer than 40...
Yes wire drive is much better, go .078 - .098" - Jeff Wholt set me up with the wire drives.

This has stirred my inerest as well. I could easily convert my DF26 to twin motors as I said above. would be fun. I would only need 40 - 60 amp esc;s and carbon props. Wire drive is simpler than flex also.

Totally false.Originally posted by Rumdog View PostYou will need to run sub-surface drives or outboards. Twin surface drives will not work.
I've seen twin drive surface setups on gas monos and electric. Where do you get your info from?
There is even a picture of one in the first or second Testament of RC Boat Bibles (Referring to Air Ages' "Guide to RC boating Basics" and the "Advanced" information book.)

I'm looking forward to seeing your build. I saw a MHZ Gecko done with twin drive, mind you it was only 15" long but, very cool. The builder said it was quite stable running with a pair of 380 brushed motors. Waaay over powered.
If I would build a twin Mono, I would use a center rudder like the guy that did the twin Gecko.
Heck, maybe I could turn my DF 26 into a twin drive with twin 28mm Turnigy Typhoon motors... Cool idea!!

Ok well I am building this boat as something different, there are 1000's of other monos out there with a single motor and the exact same setup. I wanted to build a dual cat but there are also tons of those around now too. This is something different and I am confident that it will work fine even if the prop depth during turns isnt ideal.

that's not going to be stable or run right at all.Originally posted by obrien008 View PostNo I dont actually plan on running diff size props but it would be fun to experiment with and maybe lowering the outside strut if I were to try some oval stuff.
Pics coming up now once I figure the posting out
that hull will be all over the place

I also thought that i could raise and lower the struts some or even use a bigger prop on the outside in order to keep it in a bit more. Thats something I can mess around with once I get bored with the straight runs.
What do you think about 540Ls on 4S???
